Now That's Good

I recently came upon a quote by John Piper in which he stated that every generation needs to define and defend Christian Orthodoxy for itself. For those who are called to lead Christ's bride, the decisions we make and way in which we choose to move will echo for eternity and be to our glory or shame. The direction we take cannot be impulsive or culture pressured. Our doctrine must be clearly defined and our convictions settled. Whilst many are content to only love their people, merely maintaining status quo, let it be said of us as it was of David, that once he had accomplished God's purpose in his generation, he died. Our desire to recover authentic Christianity is simply a desire to press on to take hold of that for which Christ has taken hold of us.
